简介：被叫停的北京独立影像展最终在纽约“复活” 《没有电影的电影节》放映结束后的问答环节。左起分别是电影人黄骥、翻译Connie Ka、电影人王我、活动组织者史杰鹏、钱盈和谢枫 8月19日晚，纪录片《没有电影的电影节》在纽约哈林区梅索斯纪录片中心(Maysles Documentary Center)的影院进行了首映。这部反映去年夏天第11届北京独立影像展事件全貌的作品，由众多艺术家、独立电影人、活动组织者和参与者所提供的影像素材共同组成，电影人王我进行剪辑整理，直到放映当天才匆匆完成最后的调试。其成片时间距离去年的事件发生刚好相隔一年。 这也是题为“边缘影像：2012-14北京独立影像展最佳作品”系列展映活动中的第10场放映。刚过去的8月20日，纽约亚洲协会中展映了组织者之一的史杰鹏和Libbie Cohn合作的影片《人民公园》。至此，这次持续时长1个多月的活动已经过半，剩下的8场放映将在纽约亚洲协会、美国华人博物馆和Union Docs等处陆续举行，直到9月13日。 活动的三位组织者钱盈(Karin Chien)、谢枫(Shelly Kraicer)和史杰鹏(J. P.Sniadecki)各自分别有着制片人、影评人和导演的身份，他们对独立电影，尤其是中国的独立电影有着长期的观察、研究和参与。在去年8月北京独立影像展被叫停之后，他们立即打算将这些影片带来纽约以示支持和声援。此外，三人还在今年7月7日发起网络筹款，在短短一个月内，活动共收到264位支持者总计近1.45万美元的款项，以用于邀请部分独立电影人来纽约参加放映的路费，以及活动相关宣传品的印刷制作等费用。 北京独立影像展由栗宪庭电影基金主办，创始于2006年，近年来已发展成为中国一个较具影响力的独立影像展，但该影像展的发展也吸引了当局的注意。2012年，在宋庄举行的独立影像展在开幕仅3小时后便被当局拉闸断电，观众被驱散。去年，影像展仍然举行，但在开幕前夕被当局叫停，之后其宋庄的办公所在地遭到断水断电，执法者强行进入带走了电脑、文件和电影资料，甚至在交涉中发生了肢体冲撞等一系列事件。这其中牵涉到自由表达、政府审查和公共活动的组织等敏感问题，因而难以避免地陷入重重纷争之中。 在去年北京独立影像展被迫中断后，北京电影学院教授郝建在接受采访时表示，这就像哈维尔所说的“后极权社会由恐惧感维持”：“在我看来，中国官方统治者也是处在极度的恐惧状态中……它对任何的风吹草动，对任何人群的聚集都是心怀恐惧，因为它不知道这些人会做什么、说什么。拿官方的话来说就是‘要将其扼杀在萌芽中’。” 因此“被禁作品”、“中国不想让你看到的电影”等措辞，自然成为了大部分当地媒体对此次展映进行报道的标题。 尽管与第11届北京独立影像展被叫停的事件密切相关，这次纽约的展映却并非对前者的直接挪移或复制，在北京独立影像展艺术总监王宏伟的建议之下，精选了过去三年参展过的优秀作品。除了艾未未的《平安乐清》、胡杰的《星火》等政治类题材，还包括了大量的纪录片(如邹雪平的《吃饱的村子》等)、实验艺术电影(如陈轴的《我不不不是陈轴》等)、女性导演作品(如文慧的《听三奶奶讲过去的故事》等)和动画短片(如白斌的《猎人与骷髅怪》等)等多种形式和门类。在全部29部参展影片中，有至少10部在此前获得过各类奖项，确实可谓中国独立电影中的“最佳作品”，也向纽约的观众提供了一次较为全面的呈现。 组织者之一的谢枫表示：“我最初对作品的选择并不完全出于政治因素的考虑，而是因为这些作品本身用特别的方式展现出了中国艺术家和电影人们非常美妙的创造力，他们用作品呼应了当下快速变化的中国。”“新的艺术形式”，而非政治题材的表达，是谢枫从这些中国电影中所看到的最大闪光点。《纽约时报》的文章也认为，许多体制外的创作“并不一定涉及到政府认为的敏感话题”。 电影导演史杰鹏有两部自己的创作也在这次展映之中。其中2013年的《玉门》与中国电影人黄香、徐若涛合作，作品介于真实和虚构之间的影像语言使其夺得了当年影像展的实验创新奖。史杰鹏仍然记得自己2008年初到北京的感受：“我当时觉得就像是找到了自己的家人和归属。这些中国独立电影人并不受到商业的驱动，也不是为了个人的安全感而进行创作，他们是在探索。” 王我则谈到了影像展在跨文化交流方面的贡献：“有一点很好就是影像展常设有其他国家作品展映的单元，例如意大利、比利时、日本等等。影展的工作人员会很专业地翻译字幕，包括很多像是非洲或菲律宾等小语种地区的电影。平时看到的机会就少，也很少人去做这方面的工作。”文化的交流，或许正是北京独立影像展以及此次纽约展映等活动所希望促成和坚持的。 独立电影遭到边缘化或是排挤并非只在中国发生。谢枫坦言东西方各有其艰辛之处：“在东方有政治审查，西方则是商业审查。拿中国来举例，与功夫片或是章子怡等明星参演的电影相比，成本低、预算紧的独立电影作品更难有机会在除了艺术节之外的活动上被看见。” 尽管受众少，但独立电影在许多国家都有各自的推广渠道和发布平台。艺术院线是较为常见的专门机构之一。而与美术馆进行协作也渐渐成为一种更加有效的方式：纽约的影像博物馆(Museum of the Moving Image)就在今年4月举行了台湾导演蔡明亮作品的专题展，用博物馆的眼光和策展补充了影院的语境，也将艺术电影带给更多观众。 或许，独立电影在今天的遭遇也只是进程中的一个必经阶段。人们对陌生事物的排斥与否定也是独立电影发展过程中的瓶颈之一。在《没有电影的电影节》一片中，影像展主办者和电影基金创始人栗宪庭对着镜头聊到自己过往的经历：80年代时抽象艺术曾经一度被视为禁忌，后来大家才慢慢接受;之后当代艺术又成了禁忌，可现在也都为人所熟悉了。说起未来的计划，钱盈表示接下来的6个月将带着这些中国独立电影在北美进行巡展。而在宋庄，第12届北京独立影像展开幕在即。
